In her brief annotation in Cinefantastique 31.11 (April 2000),[1] Anna L. Kaplan notes that "Some of Seven of Nine's[2] nanopbobes infect the Doctor's[3] holoemitter.[4] The emitter turns into a Borg maturation chamber, containing a fetal Borg with extremely advanced 29th century technology" (pp. 28-29).
See for cyborgs, nanotechnology, and holograms, plus nurturing containment in a kind of cybernetic womb for the fetal Borg — with the threat of nurturing on-board a Borg. Note Seven of Nine's "experiencing grief for the first time" and not really understanding her emotions (p. 29).
