Saint-Simon, Claude-Henri de Rouvroy, Conte de. Oeuvres (Works). 6 vols. Paris: Editions, Anthropos, 1966. There is also a 47-vol. set of the works of Saint-Simon and Barthélemy-Prosper Enfantin (1865-78).

Saint-Simon (1760-1825) was an early proponent of "a governing scientific and technocratic elite" (B. Lyau, "Technocratic Anxiety . . ." 296, 277, cited under Literary Criticism). Most relevant here, Lettres d'un habitant Genéve à ses contemporains (1803, "Letters of a Genevan to His Contemporaries"), calling for scientists to take the social niche of priests; Du Système industriel (1820-21) and Catèchisme des industriels (1823-24, both more or less "Concerning the Industrial System").
