Novelization of the1987 film (q.v.), and a book readers may find surprisingly moving. The story of Alex Murphy's death, resurrection as RoboCop, and coming to deal with his life as a cyborg may pull some strings that went very deep into the psychology of (at least) North American White ethnic males in the last part of the 20th c.
