Ford, Martin. Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future. New York City: Basic Books, 2015.

From Wikipedia summary opening, Ford's book

discusses the impact accelerating change and artificial intelligence will have on the labor market. His thesis is that there will be great social and economic disruption, as educated workers will no longer be able to find employment; unlike in previous technological revolutions, very few new jobs will be created in the course of the ongoing disruption.[1]

See and cf. Kurt Vonnegut's first novel, Player Piano (1952), and its relatively few successors in dystopian fiction on this theme, at least that we had found as of summer 2021.[2][3]
