Parts II and III relevant; see esp. 38-39 for bureaucratic tyranny as "rule by Nobody," and 81-87 for the rebellion of human beings using our "faculty of action" against "the huge party machines" and the apparatus of the state. Many of the world machines in dystopian fiction may be literalizations of such machine metaphors.
