Sheckley, Robert. Futuropolis: Impossible Cities of Science Fiction and Fantasy. 1978. New York: A & W Publishers, 1978.

Pictures with explanatory text of many proposed (and sometimes built) or envisioned cities, ranging from a plan by Dinocrates, architect to Alexander the Great, to photographs of real cities to comic book art to SF illustration to illustrations for recent proposals for space colonies. Most of the imagined cities are highly mechanized and will be viewed by different people as eutopian, dystopian, hellish, heavenly, and most stops between.
