From the "Fiction 2000" Conference: An introduction by GS, a list of contributors and an Index, and eighteen essays from various authors. Essays include Lewis Shiner's "Inside the Movement […]" (a brief historical overview, with some cogent remarks on some important late 20th-c. narratives and some political commentary); Istvan Csicsery-Ronay, Jr.'s "Futuristic Flu, or the Revenge of the Future."[1]

Reviewed by Rob Latham, "Cyberpunk = Gibson = Neuromancer," SFS 20.2 (July 1993): 266-72. [2] Latham mentions "Francis Bonner on cyberpunk in film and television" of the 1980s, and "Csicsery-Ronay's brief analysis [...] of David Cronenberg's 1982 film, Videodrome, praising IC-R's "exciting treatment of cyberpunk themes in contemporary cinema" (p. 271).
