FRINGE: "Dream Logic." Fox-TV, episode 2.05, 15 Oct. 2009.

Computer chips embedded in people's brains tap into a, so to speak, steal their dreams while leading them to usually violent, murderous, behavior. See for images of extracting the chip from a brain or two — where the organic has been superimposed on, as well as invaded by, the cybernetic — and for the dream caps worn by the villain and what we might call, not mad (any more) but definitely, The Druggie Scientist (Dr. Walter Bishop). Note also idea of addiction to dreams, with the variation that in this case it's other people's dreams.
