CYBORG. Albert Pyun, dir. USA: Golan-Globus (prod.) / Cannon Films (release), 1989. 86 min.

CableView 10.5 (May 1990) describes CYBORG as "A gripping cinematic study of a world gone mad . . . . The cyborg shows that mechanization and pure logic are not enough to survive"; a healthy soul is also necessary (Premium Index). We'll describe CYBORG as a Jean-Claude Van Damme martial-arts vehicle featuring a female cyborg in a postapocalypse USA, significant for the cyborg's journey as occasion for much of the violence in the film, and the cyborg's presence for thematic interest.
