Babylon 5: "A Voice in the Wilderness" "A Voice in the Wilderness", Parts 1 and 2, Babylon 5 #120 and 122. Weeks of 27 July and 3 Aug. 1994. Janet Greek, dir. J. Michael Straczynski, script. Harlan Ellison, conceptual consultant.

Note huge ranges of underground machinery like unto that of the Krell in FORBIDDEN PLANET. Note also superimposition of that machinery on humanoid aliens, and the very literal interfacing of those "men" and machines. Cf. and contrast H. Ellison's "Asleep: With Still Hands".

Covered briefly in Frank Garcia's "Babylon 5 Episode Guide," Cinefantastique 31.12/Vol. 32 No. 1 (June 2000): 46-48. See Babylon 5 entry for link to locations on line where the relevant Cinefantastique issues are likely to be archived. Quotation in the "Guide" from director Janet Greek: "They had me watch FORBIDDEN PLANET [...]. It was really sort of a homage to that [...]" (p. 47).
