Reynolds, Mack (pseud. of Dallas McCord Reynolds). After Utopia. New York: Ace, 1977.

The utopia referred to in the title is that of E. Bellamy in Looking Backward (q.v. this Category). AU is set in 2050, some fifty years after the time of the setting in Bellamy's work, and shows the degeneration of utopia as people turn to "intuitive" computers: machines for escape into fantasy. See Brian Stableford in "The Utopian Dream Revisited: Socioeconomic Speculation in the SF of Mack Reynolds," Foundation #16 (May 1976): 49.
