CYBORG 2087. Franklin Adreon, dir. USA: Feature Film (prod.), 1966. Michael Rennie, star. Made for TV. 86 mins.

Cyborg from 2087 goes back in time to 1966 "to prevent a scientist from creating a device that will later be used as an instrument for mind-control by a totalitarian government" of 2087 (S. F. Ency.); the cyborg succeeds, at the cost of his own existence since the device he persuades the scientist to destroy allowed the creation of cyborgs (S. F. Ency. and Walt Lee[1]). Richard D. Erlich (one of the initial compilers on this Wiki) recalls seeing this film at a drive-in, with a framing gimmick, so it may have had some play after its TV presentation.[2]

According to Jason W. Ellis in his review in SFRA Review #314 (Winter 2015 [sic]): pp. 26-27,[3] discussed in Sharon Packer's Neuroscience in Science Fiction Films (Jefferson, NC: McFarland, 2015).
