Zelazny, Roger. "24 Views of Mt. Fuji, by Hokusai." 1985. Rpt. The New Hugo Winners, Volume II. "Presented by Isaac Asimov." (Copyright held by Nightfall, Inc., and Martin Harry Greenberg.) Riverdale, NY: Baen, 1991. For this citation: the S. F. Book Club Edn., unmarked except for lack of an ISBN.

Usefully seen as a commentary on cyberpunk cyberspace and F. Pohl's gigabit space—and on RZ's own Lord of Light. A man is "translated" into "An Electronic Buddha" residing in the world data-net (42). Such transcendence and "pure existence" removes imagination, conscience, and a sense of responsibility (46-47), and leads to illusions of godlike power over human affairs (58-59).
